Crested Butte Mountain Resort is pleased to announce the formation of their new mountain sports team.  In creating this new department the Crested Butte Mountain Sports Team (CBMST) is building comprehensive mountain sports programs that are accessible by a wide variety of athletes, from kids learning to ski and ride to driven student athletes.  CBMST offers various levels of participation from weekend recreational programs to full-time, competitive based programming.

CBMST is pleased to partner with Crested Butte's Ski and Ride School to create an entirely new progression of programs for kids to get to the mountain and learn to rip.  CBMST's Fundamental Programs begin with private lessons in the well known "Fun 4 Kids," available for ages 3-6.  The Kid's Ski & Ride School also combined the former Gold Medal Team and the Cruisers program to create the Cruiser Camp - a new 12 week program that will focus on the fundamentals of skiing and riding for all ability levels, ages 4 through 15.

CBMST Development Programs focus on taking the kids who possess strong fundamentals to the next level competitively, or by simply taking their personal ski and ride skills to a higher level in alpine racing, snowboarding, big mountain, free ride, and telemark skiing.   The Development Programs will introduce athletes to both tactical and technical approaches to varying terrain on the mountain.  CBMST Development Programs consist of 3 offerings.  The Cyclones, ages 8 and up, accommodate athletes formerly on the Gold Medal Team by introducing these kids to the concepts of tactics, safety, no fall zones, and more terrain choices.  The Junior Team, ages 8 and up, is a further offering from CBMST that works to progress an athlete's competitive edge.  Our programs culminate with the full-time, comprehensive, competitive based Elite Team, for ages 11 and up. 

No matter the choice for your child all CBMST and Ski and Ride School programs stay true to our mission of offering comprehensive programs for the Gunnison Valley that get kids to the mountain at a young age and help them progress as talented all-mountain skiers and riders.  If we see the kids in our program complete their first turn, ride their first quad, charge down headwall, launch a 40 foot gap or rattle down International at high speeds, then we've done our job.
